Accept - Restless and Wild

Not much brain power left to sling around after a long day, so let's go with a no-brainer: Accept's stone classic Restless and Wild. Anybody with an affinity for heavy metal should have this, as it contains the indispensable "Fast as a Shark" as the punchy opener and lays down song after song of rock-solid bullshit-free rock and roll. Lots of animal metaphors, seemingly millions of razor-sharp riffs, and even a spooky ballad really make this one a high point for this sometimes snooze-inducing band.
You're my princess of the dawn.

Lalo Schifrin - Black Widow

Primarily known as a film composer whose works range from Mission: Impossible to Enter the Dragon, Argentine Lalo Schifrin also sporadically released strange albums of futuristic horror disco funk, sinister jazz, and further madness. This one, an especially dark and trippy album, features remakes of world-music standard "Quiet Village" and a startling funk version of the theme from Jaws dripping with wah guitar, among many percolating originals and cinematic snippets. Surely the heavy disco trappings will alienate many of you, but if you're willing to tolerate a little slap bass and hi-hat abuse there is much dark material to be mined here. The perfect soundtrack to a cocaine-induced heart attack and out-of-body experience.

Giant Squid - Monster in the Creek

Questions upon conundrums dipped in riddles. Can a record based upon freshwater sharks preying on scrawny hillbilly children purely out of desperate hunger be considered beauiful? Could this happen again, and would it make a good concept album ninety years from this day? What would Lester Stillwell, who was eaten by the eponymous monster in 1916, make of this cerebral slab of chum? If you were eaten by a shark tomorrow, what would they play at your funeral?
Will there be sequels?
